Balboa Park

Pantoja Park is San Diego's oldest park. Created in 1850 and named after the Spanish explorer, Don Juan Pantoja y Arriaga, who first surveyed and charted San Diego Bay in 1782, it is a rare pocket of quiet greenery amid all of downtown�s redevelopment. The statue guarding the park, Mexico�s first president of native descent Benito Juarez, was given by the Mexican government to the city of San Diego in 1981 as a gesture of friendship.

The San Diego Bay can be seen sparkling from many downtown San Diego properties as well from Point Loma, Coronado and beyond. The San Diego Bay is home to many yachts, boats, great annual events and spectacular unique happenings.
